Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This privacy policy explains how Maxx Force Hockey, the seller and operator of Shift IQ Hockey / Game Sense, collects and uses personal information.
1. Who we are
Maxx Force Hockey ("we", "us") operates the Shift IQ Hockey / Game Sense training platform (the "Service"). We act as the data controller for personal data we collect about Service users.
2. Personal data we collect
- Account data — name, email address, password (stored hashed), and login credentials.
- Profile data — player name, position (Defense/Center/Wing), and team you optionally provide during onboarding.
- Usage data — scenarios attempted, answers, IQ score, streaks, levels unlocked, and timestamps.
- Support communications — messages you send us when you ask for help.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and basic telemetry needed to operate and secure the Service.
Payment card details and billing addresses are collected and handled directly by our payment provider Paddle — we never see or store your full card number.
3. Why we use your data and legal basis
- Provide the Service — create your account, save progress, render scenarios, calculate your IQ score (legal basis: performance of the contract).
- Customer support — respond to your questions (legitimate interests and contract).
- Security and fraud prevention — detect abuse and protect users (legitimate interests).
- Product improvement — understand which scenarios work well in aggregate (legitimate interests).
- Legal compliance — comply with tax, accounting, and other legal obligations (legal obligation).
4. Who we share data with
- Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database, analytics, and customer support tooling that operate the Service on our behalf.
- Paddle.com — our reseller and Merchant of Record for sale of subscriptions, including subscription management, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing.
- Professional advisers — legal and accounting professionals where necessary.
- Authorities — when required by law or to enforce our rights.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. International transfers
Some of our service providers may be located outside your country, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred from the UK or the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
6. How long we keep data
We retain account, profile, and progress data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep certain records (for example billing records) to meet legal obligations.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to our processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. We respond to verified requests within the timelines required by applicable law (typically one month under UK/EU GDPR).
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege database policies — to protect your personal data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to follow industry good practice.
9. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to log you in and keep your session active. We may also use limited analytics technologies to understand Service usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in.
10. Children
Hockey players of many ages use the Service. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country, please use the Service only with a parent or guardian's involvement. Parents who believe their child has provided personal data without their consent can contact us to have it removed.
11. Contact
For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact us through the support details published on our website. For payment-related personal data handled by Paddle, see Paddle's privacy notice at paddle.com/legal/privacy.
